Police were only doing their jobs

In reply to Mr. Thrasher (accusing police of profiling young drivers): I feel I must disagree with the premise of your argument. The Illinois Rules of the Road require in Chapter 12 that a vehicle:

"License plate light -- Vehicles must have a white light making the license plate readable from 50 feet away. The light must be on whenever headlights are lighted."

The Illinois Rules of the Road also state in chapter 4:

"Complete the turn into the lane closest to you going in your intended direction"

In my opinion, it does not seem that the police officer(s) were "profiling late-night young drivers." It looks like they were doing their job of enforcing the rules of the road.

For that, I commend them.
