How do we create effective change?
Change seems to be the catchword of this election year.
Having a new president really won't have the effect that most people think. The new president will still have to deal with the Congress.
Half of that body will be up for elections also. If the same people are elected to that body, the results for Americans will be no better than they are now.
The change that really needs to occur is not the person or persons in the job but rather the attitude of the people serving the citizens.
Many in government can't seem to come to a consensus on almost anything. They have become combative and therefore nothing gets done.
As in all areas of our society, there are more good people with good intentions in politics than bad. It seems that goals to achieve something better disappear because of the way the system works. There is an obvious need to change the system.
Our country is based on a free market system. If that is the case, why are taxes so high for everyone? Taxation at the current rates apparently hinders a free market system.
Anytime the government steps in and takes over or regulates a program, it becomes more expensive, confusing and then ultimately cuts are made in benefits that once were given.
Politicians must change their view from the top and start connecting with Middle America.
The idea is an attitude change from ideology to reality and practicality.
Ideas, based on theory and ideology, don't work as planned when put into practice. Democrats against Republicans should only occur during elections.
Once in office all work should come as a result of compromise and bi-partisanship.
