Program to discuss our water supply
The United Methodist Women from Trinity UM Church invite all women to attend an interactive program, "Voice for the Voiceless," Tuesday at the church, 605 W. Golf Road, Mount Prospect. A light soup and sandwich supper will be served from 5:30 to 6 p.m., followed by the program from 6 to 7 p.m.
Karen Hewitson, Green Team North Central Jurisdiction representative, will lead the program, which is designed to draw attention to the critical need to be aware of our dwindling water supply.

Jaycees to host Easter egg hunt
Elk Grove Village Jaycees is hosting its 48th annual Easter Egg Hunt at noon March 15 at Lindbergh Park, behind Link School, Biesterfield and West Glenn Trail roads. The Easter egg hunt is open to children ages 1 to 9. For details, call (847) 604-3268.
Concert band to perform Sunday
The Des Plaines Park District Community Concert Band will present a concert titled "Cabin Fever" at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Prairie Lakes Theatre, 515 E. Thacker St., Des Plaines.
Selections include John Williams' "Indiana Jones Selection," Leo Delibes' "Cortege de Bacchus," John Philip Sousa's "Riders for the Flag," Gioacchino Rossini's "La Gazza Ladra Overture" and Clifton William's "The Sinfonians."

Make plans to dine with Easter Bunny
The Frisbie Senior Center will hold its annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny from 9 a.m. to noon March 15 at the Prairie Lakes Park District, 515 E. Thacker St., Des Plaines. The park district will hold Easter egg hunts after the breakfast.
Speaker to discuss teen drug use
"Teen Trends of Substance Use" will be presented by Linda Lewaniak, director of chemical dependency programs at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital, at 7 p.m. March 13 at the school, 500 W. Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove Village.
Lewaniak, a licensed clinical social worker and a certified addictions counselor, will discuss trends of teenage substance use, including what parents can look for in teens who are using, as well as offering possible solutions for this critical problem.

Toastmasters host a speech contest
The Mount Prospect Toastmasters Club will host the annual NW-6 Area International Speech Contest at 7 p.m. March 18 at the First United Methodist Church, 1903 E. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights.
The contest features the four best speakers from the Mount Prospect, Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove and Libertyville area clubs.
The public is invited to attend, but the doors will be closed once the competition begins.
