Algonquin

• The village of Algonquin will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday at Golf Club of Illinois. For information, visit www.algonquin.org.

• Light of Christ Lutheran Church will host an egg hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday on the new property at Sleepy Hollow Road and Longmeadow Parkway. Donations of canned goods are requested for the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry and the Fish Food Pantry in Carpentersville. The community is invited. Carpentersville

• The Dundee Township Park District will have Flashlight Egg Hunt at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the gym of Liberty Elementary School, 6500 Miller Road in Carpentersville. Check in at the school prior to the event.

Each child will receive a hard-boiled egg to decorate The egg hunt begins at 8:30 p.m.

Participants, 8 to 12 years of age, are asked to bring their own flashlights with fresh batteries. The fees are $9 and $12, respectively.

Elgin

• The Elgin Parks and Recreation Department will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunts at 11 a.m. sharp March 22 at the Elgin Sports Complex and Lords Park. The event will go on rain or shine.

It is free to all children from toddler to 10 years old. There will be separate areas for toddlers, 4- to 6-year-olds and 7- to 10-year-olds.

The Elgin Sports Complex is at Spartan Drive and McLean Boulevard on the city's west side. Lords Park is located off Grand Boulevard on the city's east side.

• Good Shepherd Lutheran School will hold its third annual Easter egg hunt March 22 at the Nesler Road and Route 20 Christian Life Center.

At 8:30 a.m., a muffin breakfast will precede the 9 a.m. Easter egg hunt, rain or shine. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

• Elgin Bible Church, 1580 E. Chicago St. in Elgin, invites you to bring the family to a fun, free Easter celebration on March 22. Gilberts

• The village of Gilberts invites the community out to the 19th annual Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. sharp Saturday. The egg hunt will be held in Town Center, off Route 72 and Tyrrell Road. The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance.

The Yellow Ribbon Support Group will be there with care packages for the troops. Boxes will be ready to be taken to the post office and mailed for a flat rate of $8.95. For details, visit www.villageofgilberts.com.

Hampshire

• On Saturday, the Hampshire-Burlington Jaycees is hosting its third annual "Spring Faire" for the children of Burlington and Hampshire Saturday.

This free event is a way for the Jaycees to support their communities and get their name out in same communities.

The festivities will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church on French Road.

The egg hunt will start at 1:30 p.m. sharp for the first group and each group will follow shortly after. The hunt will be divided into three groups, infant to age 4, age 5 to 8 and 9 to 12.

The Hampshire-Burlington Jaycees also are requesting donations for the Hampshire-Burlington Food Pantry.

Lake in the Hills

• The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Jaycees will host its Special Needs Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Village of Lake in the Hills Community Room. For information, call the Jaycees hotline at (847) 622-4445.

• The village of Lake in the Hills will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday. Kids, bring your baskets to fill with plastic eggs then get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny.

This free event, hosted by the Lake in the Hills Parks & Recreation Department and sponsored by Jewel/Osco Foods of Algonquin, will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Park, 5200 Miller Road, Lake in the Hills, rain or shine. Prizes will be raffled. For information, visit www.lith.org.

• Joy Community Presbyterian Church, 108 S. Lakewood Road in Lake in the Hills, will conduct an Easter Egg Hunt and Resurrection Stations from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. The Resurrection Story will be told in a fun-filled, egg-related way. After the Resurrection Story, a traditional Easter Egg hunt will be held, rain or shine. Sleepy Hollow

• On March 22, the Sleepy Hollow Service Club will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. in Sabatino Park, off Thorobred Lane.

Children scramble to gather eggs left by the Easter Bunny in the fields of Sabatino Park. The hunt is divided into several age categories. Certain eggs have tickets awarding grand prizes. Everyone leaves with a few candy bars, too. The Easter Bunny is also available for pictures and to mingle with the children. For details, visit www.sleepyhollow.il.us.

South Elgin

• The South Elgin Parks and Recreation Department has invited the Easter Bunny to the annual Easter Egg Hunt at noon March 22.

The event will include photos with the Easter Bunny from 11 a.m. to noon and an optional pancake breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m. The egg hunt is free; the breakfast cost is $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents for a family of 4. The cost for each additional family member is $4. The registration deadline is March 14.

The free egg hunt will be held at Kenyon Woods on Raymond Street in South Elgin. The breakfast will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. March 22 in the North room at the municipal annex.

West Dundee

• The Dundee Township Park District will hold an egg hunt for kids 2 to 7 years old with parent at 10 a.m. March 15 at Randall Oaks Park, off Randall Road in West Dundee. They will start the hunt from two locations at the park.

Check-in 15 minutes prior to the hunts as they will begin promptly at designated time and the eggs go fast.
