Musical on works of Shel Silverstein
The works of Shel Silverstein will be celebrated in the musical, "Where the Sidewalk Ends," produced by American Eagle Productions of Chicago. The performance takes place at 1:30 p.m. today at the Bartlett Community Center, 700 S. Bartlett Road.

Drop-in hockey at Palatine rink
Hat Trick Hockey at 647 Consumers Ave. in Palatine will hold a drop-in hockey day for inline skaters from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.
Participants should bring their own equipment, and can play either on skate or foot. Admission is $5.

Scholarships open to Hanover alumni
The Hanover Countryside Elementary School PTA is offering two $300 scholarships to high school seniors who will be attending college in the fall. Applicants must have attended the Streamwood school for a minimum of three years.
Scholarships are not based solely on financial need. Applications can be picked up at local high school guidance offices or at Hanover Countryside, 6 Bartlett Road, Streamwood.
