Bartlett's Kevin Haag competes in the 200 freestyle Saturday during the Upstate Eight Conference boys swimming meet in Naperville.
While the St. Edward wrestling team finished sixth among the seven teams competing in the Class A Lisle regional Saturday, the Green Wave did advance four individuals to sectionals.
Dan Miller earned third-place honors in the 112-pound weight class and a berth to the Plano sectional next weekend defeating Bryan Carter of Mooseheart 18-11.
Miller will be joined by teammates Jon Godfrey (140), Will Lytle (145) and Joe Brown (171).
Both Godfrey and Brown advanced with pins at 5:03 and 4:50 respectively for third place honors.
Lytle took second place in regional action, falling to Lisle's David Pawlowicz via a 5-0 decision.
Host Lisle won the regional with 276 team points and Plano finished second with 147.

Judson 98, Purdue-North Central 86: Career-highs and a new winning streak were set at Judson University as the Eagles (14-6, 7-0) rolled to a 98-86 CCAC win over Purdue-North Central.
Judson has now won seven games in a row which is a new single-season record for consecutive wins.
Dewayne Robinson and Justen Boyd also had career nights for the Eagles. Boyd set a personal best for points, scoring 34 as he shot 9-of-14 from the floor and 13-of-15 from the free throw line. Boyd had a double-double with 13 points and a career-high 13 assists. Chris Oates had 18 points and Steffan Williams added 15 points for Judson.
Boys swimming
Upstate Eight meet: As a team seeking to rebuild back to the solid team it has had in recent years, a trip to this year's Upstate Eight Conference meet could have been a difficult prospect for Bartlett's boys swim team.
But while the Hawks finished sixth in the six-team meet, the afternoon at Neuqua Valley was far from wasted.
"It's a really fast meet with a lot of tough swimmers," Bartlett coach Carl Metzke said. "It's tough for us to come in and swim today. But we came in and swam well."
Metzke said he learned a number of things from his team as it competed against Neuqua Valley, which is the odds-on favorite for the state title, as well as Waubonsie Valley and the two St. Charles schools, all of which figure to be competitive Feb. 22-23 at Evanston in the state meet.
"I now know that our taper is going to work," Metzke said. "Our JV guys were happy with their times and our varsity guys are happy with where they're sitting. That's what we really wanted to see today."
Bartlett's best performance came from Mike Brady, who was third in the 50-yard freestyle.
"Brady swam excellent today," Metzke said. "Both his relay splits were getting down there. His 50 time is looking better. His 200 time looked good too, but I don't if he's going to swim that at sectionals. He got to swim next to some great swimmers today."
