Stamar Packaging acquires firm

ADDISON -- Stamar Packaging Inc. announced Thursday it purchased Metropolitan Container Packaging Group Inc. of Elk Grove Village for an undisclosed price. Both Stamar Packaging and Metropolitan Container are full-line distributors of packaging supplies, Stamar said. "This move strengthens both organizations, enabling us to stay on top of what the customer wants: value-based pricing and value-added services," Joseph Tedesco, president of Stamar, said. The companies will operate as Stamar Packaging. No reduction in work force is contemplated, the company said.
