Using the house the governor won't
I have a couple of ideas to raise some money for our cash-strapped state.
Since the governor prefers to live in Chicago, I propose that the governor's mansion be renamed the People's Mansion and turn it into a bed and breakfast.
Visitors could get a certificate at the end of their stay that says, "I slept here because the governor wouldn't."
Or perhaps it could be rented out as a banquet hall for weddings, community events, etc.
This would bring in some much-needed income and provide jobs for people living in the area.
Another idea is to send the governor a bill for advertising his name on the tollway signs.
We don't need a constant reminder of someone who likes to spend money that the state of Illinois doesn't have.
