For youth, teens

Magnificent Math: Children ages 3 to 5 will experience the wonders of math in a fun environment. Your child will work on numbers, count and experience the beginnings of math through games and activities.

Class meets from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Tuesdays, March 11-May 6 (no class on March 25) at the Community Center. Registration is $42 for residents and $63 for nonresidents.

Twos on the Move: Get your toddler moving with toys, games and activities. Your child will have fun while developing large motor skills and reflexes. This program will involve both individual play and group interaction. Class is for children ages 2 and 3 and a participating parent and meets 9:15 to 10 .m. Mondays, March 31-May 19 at the Community Center. Registration is $42 for residents and $63 for nonresidents.

Luck O' the Irish: Your friends will be green with envy when they see the fun St. Patrick's Day crafts you will complete in this program. Class is for children ages 3 to 5 and a participating parent and meets from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. March 11 at the Cary Park District Preschool. Registration is $10 for residents and $15 for nonresidents.

Sensational Science: In each class children will learn something new and exciting about science, plus participate in a hands-on experiment that involves the scientific world. Class is for children ages 3 to 5 and meets from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Thursdays, March 20-May 15 at the Community Center. Registration is $42 for residens and $63 for nonresidents.

Fun with Yoga: Are you looking for a fun and healthy activity for your child? In this introductory program kids will learn how to use their bodies in a healthy way while using their imagination and having fun. Learn yoga poses to build strength and flexibility and relaxation techniques that calm the mind. Class is for children ages 5 to 14 and meets from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 6 at the Community Center. Registration is $8 for residents and $12 for nonresidents.

For adults

Sewing for the Home: Learn to make pillows, curtains, table covers and more projects for your home. Fabric choices, seams, trims and embellishments will be discussed along with ways to use them. It is recommended that participants provide their own sewing machines, however the instructor will bring a limited number for in class use. A supply list will be provided.

Class is for adults and meets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, March 3-31 at the Kraus Senior Center. Registration is $46 for residents and $69 for nonresidents.

Tai Chi: Tai Chi is a powerful but gentle exercise for both body and mind. Its graceful, continuous movements will relax your muscles while calming and focusing your mind. Class is for people age 14 and older and meets on from 7 to 7:55 p.m. Feb. 26-April 8 at the Community Center. Registration is $50 for residents and $75 for nonresidents for the first family member and $35 or $53 for each additional family members.

Cooking Light: Are you interested in learning different techniques to reduce fat and/or calories, but not taste? Learn new ideas, pick up new recipes, and taste some samples. Bring your favorite recipe for a "cooking light" makeover. Class meets from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 11 at the Community Center. Registration is $10 for residents and $15 for nonresidents.
