Please point out Bush compassion

Well, George Bush and the Republican leadership have shown the softer side of Compassionate Christian Conservatism again.

As part of their economic stimulus package, they disqualified disabled veterans and senior citizens.

I suspect these two groups would be among the most likely to actually spend that money on a consumable item.

Now when you couple that with multiple vetoes of children's health care, a budget submission that reduces health services, a decline in funding to the Veterans Administration, refusal to allow Medicare to negotiate with drug companies, etc. while continuing to support subsidies for oil companies that have again broken all time records for profits (again), it really makes one wonder just what level of moral defect it takes to be a Republican Christian Conservative.

It seems the concept of "suffer little children and come unto me" has been modified by these people to "suffer little children and go find someone who cares."
