Breakfast program takes visitors to island of Sri Lanka

Blue Lotus Temple will present Breakfast in Sri Lanka on Saturday. Breakfast is available at three separate sittings -- 8 a.m., 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. at Congregational Unitarian Church, 221 Dean St., Woodstock.

The public is invited to enjoy a mid-winter getaway on the tropical island of Sri Lanka. Savor some of the authentic and exotic tastes of this Asian culture. Visitors will feel the warm breezes off the beaches or be whisked away to the mountains.

The menu includes hoppers; rice pancakes with or without egg; kinibat;, coconut milk rice; roti, a handmade bread with coconut and pongal; a rice disk with moong beans; cashews; raisins; and syrup. Pancakes and eggs, fruit, coffee, tea and juice also will be available.
