Schaumburg man dies in four-car crash

A Schaumburg man was killed Saturday after a four-car crash on Mall Drive just north of Woodfield Road. Dany Tiu, 57, was driving north in the southbound lanes of Mall Drive around 5:10 p.m. when he sideswiped a 2000 Dodge Intrepid before colliding with a 1988 Honda Accord, according to Schaumburg Police.

The crash's impact pushed the Accord backward into a 2003 Mazda 6 driven by a 30-year-old Chicago man. Neither he nor his passenger was hurt. The driver of the Intrepid was not injured, but the driver and two passengers of the Accord were taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village with nonlife-threating injuries, according to police.

Tiu was treated for cardiac arrest on the scene and was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. An autopsy has been scheduled for today.
