• Marine Corps Pfc. Richard V. Andrade, son of Pilar V. and Daniel R. Andrade of Naperville, recently graduated from the bulk fuel specialist course and was promoted to his current rank. Andrade, a 2007 graduate of Waubonsie Valley High School, Aurora, joined the Marine Corps in June.

• Coast Guard Seaman Scott W. Fischer recently graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N. J. He is the son of Jenny J. and Dean W. Fischer of Glen Ellyn, and a 2004 graduate of Glenbard West High School, Glen Ellyn.

• Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Jeffrey L. Prokopec recently received a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal while serving as senior patrol officer and ready-for-issue custodian assigned to U.S. Naval Support Activity Souda Bay, Crete, Greece. Prokopec, a 2006 graduate of Waubonsie Valley High School, Aurora, joined the Navy in August of that year.

• Navy Reserve Seaman Recruit Amber J. Bassett recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes. She is the daughter of Bonnie B. Bassett of Warrenville and Joseph R. Bassett of Villa Park.

• Navy Seaman Recruit Violeta Petriciole recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes. Petriciole, the sister of Erica Petriciole of Aurora, is a 2004 graduate of Illinois Math And Science Academy, Aurora.

• Navy Seaman Michael T. Albert recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes. Albert, the son of Scott Albert of Naperville, is a 2007 graduate of Christ Lutheran High School, Plainfield.
