Harper hosts Tech Night Wednesday
Harper College will host its Tech Night starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Harper Professional Center, 650 E. Higgins Road, Suite 9 South, Schaumburg. Identity theft to be discussed Sunday
"Identity Theft" will be presented from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. Sunday by Doug Townsey, at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 2025 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights.
Townsey is a professor of finance and economics at DePaul University and a financial adviser for Merrill Lynch. Call (847) 437-5141.
Learn about memory loss
"Making Sense of Memory Loss" sessions will be from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 17 through Feb. 14 at The Arlington Heights Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road Arlington Heights. This five-part educational program is designed to help family members of someone in the early stages of memory loss. The topics covered include: an overview of memory loss, communication strategies, making decisions, planning for the future and effective ways of coping and caring. Microchip Your Pet Day is Jan. 19
Loving Care Animal Clinic, 2633 Kirchoff Road, in Rolling Meadows will hold their bi-annual "Microchip Your Pet Day" Jan. 19. Call (847) 670-8488 to schedule your pet's appointment. As a community event, there will be a reduced fee of $20 per pet.
Pets are safely identified with a tiny microchip that gets injected under their skin. This chip, with a one of a kind identification number, can easily be scanned by animal shelters, police departments or animal clinics and the pet's identity will be made known to the 24 hour hotline. After a search of their database, the owner, veterinarian or alternate is contacted.
NWSRA is hiring part-timers
The Northwest Suburban Recreation Association is looking to hire motivated and enthusiastic part-time program staff, inclusion program aides, program drivers, swim instructors, and lifeguards. Hear about living with mental illness
The National Alliance on Mental Illness Northwest Suburban invites the community to hear three people tell their stories on living with mental illness.
