• Eoin Colfer, author of the best-selling Artemis Fowl series, presents "Fairies, Fiends and Flatulence" at 11 a.m. Saturday in North Central College's Pfeiffer Hall, 30 N. Brainard St., Naperville. Tickets, available at Anderson's, are $25 and include a copy of Colfer's new book, "Airman." Additional tickets may be purchased for $5 with no book.

• Alice Wood, founder and president of Wealth Watchers, comes with her new book designed to promote financial literacy, "The Savings of a Nation," at 7 p.m. Monday.

• Jill Conner Browne, the reigning queen of the Sweet Potato Queens, comes with her advice on the joys of motherhood titled "The Sweet Potato Queen's Guide to Raising Children for Fun and Profit" at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

• Gregory Maguire, author of "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West," offers his take on the Tooth Fairy in "What the Dickens" at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Naperville Central High School, 440 W. Aurora Ave., Naperville. Tickets, available at the door, are $25 and include a copy of the book. Additional tickets are available for $5.

• David Carter, creator of more than 40 pop-up books, presents his creation, "Horton Hears a Who!," at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

• Psychiatrist John Ratey comes with "Spark," his groundbreaking work on the mind-body connection, based partly on his studies with Naperville's Madison Junior High School, at 7 p.m. Jan. 22 at Naperville Central High School, 440 W. Aurora Ave., Naperville.

• Pilot Kim Strickland introduces her debut novel, "Wish Club," and Rick Kaempfer, who built his career at WLUP radio and as producer of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame shows, presents his first novel, "$everance," at 7 p.m. Jan. 24.

• Mystery writers Laura Caldwell and Marcus Sakey present their new books at 2 p.m. Jan. 26. Caldwell brings "The Good Liar," and Sakey brings "At the City's Edge."

• Relationship expert John Gray, known for his groundbreaking "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus," comes with his new book explaining how the gender gaps can be bridged, "Why Mars and Venus Collide," at 7 p.m. Jan. 29.

• Barbara Park, author of the popular Junie B. Jones series and other children's favorites, visits with her new rhyming book, "Ma, There's Nothing to Do Here!" at 7 p.m. Jan. 30.

• Jon Scieszka comes with "Smash! Crash!," book one of a new Trucktown series for preschoolers and kindergarteners, at 7 p.m. Jan. 31.

• Author Anthony Horowitz visits the Tivoli to sign his new book, "Snakehead," and for a film screening of "Stormbreaker" at 6 p.m. Jan. 17 at 5021 Highland Ave., Downers Grove. Tickets are $30 and include admission for two, one copy of the book and, while they last, a limited edition poster. Additional tickets, which do not include a book, may be purchased for $5 each.
