District 103 to offer preschool screening

Lincolnshire-Prairie View District 103 will offer a preschool screening from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30 at Sprague School, 2425 Riverwoods Road, in Lincolnshire. The district offers a screening for 3- and 4-year-old children for whom there may be concerns regarding gross or fine motor skills, speech and language or conceptual development. Vision and hearing screenings also will be offered. For information or to make an appointment, call student services at the district administrative center at (847) 295-4030 by Jan. 23.

Winter sports hotline

The Lake County Forest Preserve District has activated a winter sports hotline so people can get information about sporting conditions 24-hours a day. Call (847) 968-3235 and a recorded message will convey current trail and ice conditions for sledding, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing or ice skating at the preserves.

Vista Health names new medical director

Vista Health System has named Dr. Joseph Craig from the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago as medical director of its Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Vista Medical Center West, 2615 Washington St., in Waukegan. Vista's Inpatient Rehab Unit is the only accredited one in Lake County. It offers physical, occupational and speech rehabilitation to patients who have suffered from stroke, traumatic injury or other devastating medical condition.
