Wheeling man convicted of murder
A Wheeling man accused of murder and aggravated kidnapping in the 2005 death of a 23-year-old Mount Prospect man was found guilty on Monday. Bryan A. Gilzene, 26, of 275 Oak Creek Drive, had been charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and conspiracy to manufacture and distribute drugs in connection with the murder of Arturo Cedillo. The jury found him guilty on all charges. He will be sentenced on Feb. 8, said Andy Conklin, a spokesman for the Cook County state's attorney office. Police said Cedillo was kidnapped from his Mount Prospect apartment at gunpoint and forced into the back seat of his car. He was driven to Park Ridge, where he was found dead with a gunshot wound in his head. Gilzene had fled the Chicago area but was traced to Florida, where he was arrested 16 months later. Three other men were also charged, but Conklin said he did not know the status of those cases.
