'Mulan': Rising Star Theatreworks will present "Mulan" at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 25, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 26 and 2 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St., St. Charles. 'Otello': The DuPage Opera Theatre will perform Giuseppe Verdi's "Otello" at 8 p.m. Jan. 25, 2 p.m. Jan. 27 and 8 p.m. Jan. 31 and Feb. 2 at the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn.
The opera will be sung in Italian with English supertitles and the New Philharmonic Orchestra will provide accompaniment.

Auditions: Noble Fool Theatricals will hold auditions for "Oliver!" from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 26 on the main stage at Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St., St. Charles.
Youth ages 11 to 18 should prepare a one-minute monologue and 16 bars of a song. Children may be asked to do a cold reading from the script.
Dance training and the ability to do an English accent are a plus. Those who audition should bring sheet music for their prepared song, a head shot and a resume.

'Do Not Disturb': The comedy "Do Not Disturb" will be performed at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Jan. 26 at the Riverfront Playhouse, 11-13 S. Water St., Aurora.
The play is a collection of six stories that all take place in the same hotel suite. The show is not recommended for children.

'Shirley Valentine': "Shirley Valentine" runs at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays through Feb. 10 at the Steel Beam Theatre, 111 W. Main St., St. Charles.
The play tells the story of a British housewife who re-evaluates her life while talking to her kitchen wall.

Dinner-theater: The GreenMan Theatre Troupe will present its annual murder-mystery dinner, "Matrimony, Mayhem and Murder," Feb. 16-17 and 22-23 at Angelo's Ristorante, 247 N. York Road, Elmhurst.
Friday and Saturday shows start at 7 p.m., and Sunday shows start at 6 p.m. A cash bar opens one hour before show time. Tickets cost $40, which includes dinner.

Auditions: The Albright Theatre Company will hold auditions for "The Outsiders" at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17-18 at the theater, 100 N. Island Ave., Batavia.
The play, based on the book by S.E. Hinton, includes roles for boys ages 14 to 20; three to seven girls ages 16 to 20; and two adult women 30 or older.

Seeking new members: The Village Theatre Guild, Inc., meets at 7:30 p.m. the third Monday of every month at the Village Theatre, Park Boulevard and Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn. New members are welcome.
The group is seeking adults who enjoy acting and singing, as well as those who want to work behind-the-scenes with makeup, hair, costumes, props, set construction and design, lighting and sound.
No experience is needed. Each gathering starts with a short business meeting, followed by a one-act play or scene by a VTG member.
