Five hurt in three-car crash in Lake in the Hills

Five people were taken to area hospitals after a Thursday afternoon crash along Haligus Road just north of Wild Springs Drive in Lake in the Hills. The crash occurred at 4:45 p.m., and traffic along Haligus Road was rerouted until shortly after 6:15 p.m. Lake in the Hills police Sgt. Mike Boyce said none of the three drivers were yet ticketed, and the accident remains under investigation. Boyce didn't know the condition of the injured motorists, who were taken to Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, Memorial Hospital in Woodstock and Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
