Scene study set at Pheasant Run

The Bartlett Park District offers a class for both non-professional and serious actors 18 and older from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday to March 4. Classes are run through Noble Fool Theatricals, and held at Pheasant Run Resort on North Ave., in St. Charles.

Participants can sharpen basic skills, and improve confidence and public speaking skills. Workshops will assist actors in enhancing techniques for any stage performance.

Explore scenes from "Lost In Yonkers," based on events, individual objectives, beats and intentions. Character behavior, physical characteristics and emotions will also be examined.

Village blood drive kickoff Thursday

A replenishment blood drive for Schaumburg resident Corina Najjar will be held from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Schaumburg Park District's Community Recreation Center gym, 505 N. Springinsguth Road.

The 3-year-old girl was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. During the course of her treatment, Corina received four transfusions over more than two years.

To kick off the 2008 Schaumburg Blood Drive, Mayor Al Larson will be in attendance, along with LifeSource vice president of donor recruitment Todd Cahill. James Covert, LifeSource president and former Chicago Bears player, will provide a signed football as a random drawing prize for all presenting donors.
