Hawks may lose Kane for tonight's game

DENVER - This is not what the Blackhawks needed coming out of the all-star break.

Leading scorer Patrick Kane did not participate in Wednesday's morning skate because of illness and is questionable for Wednesday night's game against the Colorado Avalanche at the Pepsi Center.

Kane stayed back at the team hotel to rest. The rookie winger came down with flu-like symptoms Tuesday night after practice.

"We'll just have to see how he is later," general manager Dale Tallon said.

Kane was supposed to skate on a line with Robert Lang and Rene Bourque. Hawks coach Denis Savard might have to juggle his lines again if Kane can't play.

Kane leads the Hawks in scoring with 45 points.
