Woodfield convention bureau helps domestic violence support group

Woodfield Chicago Northwest Convention Bureau is adding social responsibility to the task of tourism promotion and marketing by teaming up to support WINGS this holiday season.

Through collections of desperately needed items, the bureau is helping WINGS continue their mission in these challenging times. The mission of WINGS (Women in Need Getting Stronger) is to provide a continuum of integrated services in an effort to end homelessness and domestic violence one family at a time.

The bureau is asking for help in donating items they desperately need, as well as items that would brighten their holiday, such as a new unwrapped toy or gift. Gift cards, phone cards, bus passes and monetary donations are welcome and needed as well, according to the bureau.

Other items that are needed include laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, toilet tissue, kitchen supplies and utensils, hand and bath towels, twin sheets, blankets & comforters, pajamas, nightgowns and robes Donations can be dropped off through Dec. 18 at the bureau office at 1375 E. Woodfield Road Suite 120, Schaumburg.
