History exhibit to open
A new permanent display that uses text, photos and artifacts to bring the history of West Chicago to life opens in January at West Chicago City Hall, 475 Main St. The six-panel exhibit is fabricated using a unique bio-based material made from an agricultural fiber consisting of sunflower hulls. While it concentrates on West Chicago's earliest history, tracing connections back to prehistoric times, some more recent developments also are explored. City hall is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Holiday closures are noted on the city's Web site, www.westchicago.org.
