RMHS holiday concert on Dec. 9
Those in search of an enjoyable evening of seasonal music should look no further than Rolling Meadows High School's theater on Wednesday, Dec. 9, when two Holiday Concerts will be presented.
The Holiday Choral Concert will begin at 6:30 p.m., featuring performances by the Beginning Choir, Advanced Women's Choir, Concert Choir, Madrigals, and the Combined Choirs with Orchestra. The choral ensembles are under the direction of Kimberly Stromberg; the orchestra is directed by Michael Riggs.
Some of the selections to be performed are the following: "Ding Dong Merrily on High," "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," "Angelic Christmas Fanfare," "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day," "Joy to the World," "Banquet Fugue," "Carol of the Bells," "O Magnum Mysterium," "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," "Hanerot Halalu," and the traditional singing of the "Hallelujah Chorus."
Tickets are $5 for center section reserved seating and $3 for side sections general admission. They may be purchased at the door or in advance by calling the choir office at (847) 718-5753).
The second concert of the evening, the Holiday Instrumental Music Concert, will take place at 8 p.m. The concert will feature performances by the Orchestra, Percussion Ensembles and combined Concert and Symphonic Bands, under the direction of Christopher Buti, Michael Riggs, and student teacher, Jonny Untch.
Some of the selections to be performed are the following: "Fantasia" on Greensleeves, "Two Carols," "The Nutcracker," "Hanukkah Celebration," "In the Hall of the Mountain King," "O Magnum Mysterium," "Jingle Bells," "Let it Snow!", and "Holiday Piece."
