Auditions open for 'Arsenic' in Itasca
Overshadowed Theatrical Productions will hold auditions for "Arsenic and Old Lace" at 10 a.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Monday at Itasca Baptist Church, 210 S. Walnut St. Auditions will include readings from the script and a 60-second prepared monologue. Performances will be Feb. 22-23, Feb. 28-March 1 and 6-8. For information, call (630) 250-7518.
'Scrooge' benefits music education
The Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternity will hold a holiday event at 2 p.m. Sunday at Elmhurst College, in Irion Hall's Buik Recital Hall, 190 Prospect Ave. The event will include a seasonal sing-along and a showing of the 1935 classic "Scrooge." There also will be a gift basket raffle. Admission costs $2, $1 for children and students. Proceeds will benefit the VH-1 Save the Music Foundation, a nonprofit organization that aims to restore music education programs in public schools. For details, visit www.elmhurst.edu.
Pasta dinner shows 'Love for Lucy'
The Love for Lucy Foundation, formed by the friends of Lucy Pierri who is a nurse in Bloomingdale Elementary District 13 schools, will hold a Pasta Dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Lake Park High School, 500 W. Bryn Mawr, Bloomingdale. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and children ages 3 to 12 with children under 3 free. Raffle tickets are $1 each and a silent auction will be held. Chamber plans holiday luncheon
The Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce will hold its 25th anniversary celebration with a Holiday Awards Luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 13 at Hilton Indian Lakes Resort, 250 W. Schick Road, Bloomingdale. The event includes awards holiday music and recognition of past presidents. Reservations must be prepaid with no walk-ins. Tickets are $37 per person. Cookie walk assists Deicke Home
The Auxiliary of The West Suburban Association for The Retarded, Inc., annual Cookie Walk will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Deicke Home Activity Center, 1027 E. Division St., Lombard. Homemade cookies will be sold for $7 per pound. The event also will include a bake sale, raffles and a craft table. Raffle tickets cost $1 each, six for $5. Proceeds benefit residents of the association's Deicke Home.
