Golf winnings could feed many

Our great country is really in bad shape due to the recession. Millions of people out of work; children are hungry in our nation. The economy is practically in a depression mode, if not in it already.

I came across an article in the Herald sport pages. A huge American corporation decided to award a rich golfer $10 million because he accumulated more points than any other golfer in some kind of point system. The remaining millionaire golfers were awarded to split the remaining $25 million. The point of the story proves that the rich help the rich.

That would have been a great donation to a great number of food pantries.
