Nonsensical lawsuit should be dismissed

With an unemployment rate exceeding 10.5 percent in our state, I find it impossible to sympathize will illegals losing their jobs.

The company, Red Roof Inn, terminated the workers because they provided false Social Security numbers and says this justified their dismissal. The Ohio-based hotel chain says it requires all employees to sign a consent form allowing background checks.

Maria Cervantes filed a lawsuit challenging her dismissal based on an Illinois law that restricts the use of E-Verify to new hires only! Why would we allow such a law to be enacted, one that deliberately flouts the authority of the U.S. government and penalizes every single legally residing TAXPAYER in this state?

Why is our state so hell bent on protecting these LAWBREAKERS at the expense of the millions of legal, law-abiding TAXPAYERS, many of whom have lost their jobs and many more working less than full-time hours.

The only law that we should be enforcing is the one that says you use forged documents or stolen identities, you get arrested, you lose the job and hopefully YOU GET DEPORTED!

Give the jobs to those who came here legally, follow our laws, and to the millions who were born and raised here by LEGAL residents of this country. It may not be a glamorous job, but I am sure there are quite a few among the millions of unemployed that would welcome the opportunity to take that job.

Lets stick up for the TAXPAYERS and the LEGAL RESIDENTS of this state. Dismiss this lawsuit for the slap in the face to taxpayers that it represents and overturn that law that protects illegals!
