Run to benefit Fox River Grove youth sports

The 15th annual Fox Chase Run on Sunday, Oct. 25 will benefit youth sports in Fox River Grove. The event features a 5K race over a challenging, hilly course through the streets of town, and a kids' one-mile cross country race. It is held each hear in October and is organized by the Fox River Grove Recreation Council.

The 5K Run will begin at 9 a.m. with the Youth Mile for ages 13 and younger at 10 a.m. at Algonquin Road School, 975 Algonquin Road, Fox River Grove. T Shirts are free to entrants in the 5K while supplies last. Water is available at start, middle and end of race. Results will be available at Foxchase5k.com.

There will be a $100 prize to the first-place male and female finishers. Entry fees are $25 on the day of race. Entry fees are nonrefundable.

Cost is $10 for the Youth Mile. The kids' race is over an off-road cross country course. Free goody bags to race participants while supplies last. There will be a $25 gift certificate to top boy and girl finisher. Awards to the top 2 boy and girl finishers in these age groups: 0-8, 9-10 and 11-13.

There will be free food and beverages are provided to all participating runners.
