President doesn't know what he wants
We all know by now that Barack Obama studied constitutional law, and by some reports even taught it. What we also know, based on his Sept. 6, 2001 interview on WBEZ public radio, that he feels the Constitution gives too much power to the people and not enough to the government.
He needs to be reminded that the Constitution was designed to rein in the government. Now we see the president is cleverly sidestepping the constitution, by various means, because he knows he can't change it. Examples would be appointing a "pay czar" who assumes the authority to regulate the pay of over 5,000 various executives.
Erosion of freedom? You bet. Or how about telling health insurance companies that they can't write a letter to their customers telling them what is in the health care program. And speaking of health care, how constitutional is it to force an individual to buy health care insurance or pay a huge fine and possible a jail sentence if they don't.
One of the more outrageous examples is the appointment of 42 czars to run just about every facet of government. None has been confirmed by Congress, but all of them answer only to the president.
Remember when Obama promised that there would be no more earmarks in his administration, or there would be no lobbyists, or that it would be the most ethical in history, the most bipartisan, the most transparent?
And remember when he said "Afghanistan is a war of necessity" and now he is vacillating? And he said he would not prosecute CIA agents, and it now looks like he will. What we have is a man who isn't really sure what he wants or how to achieve it. He lacks leadership, and our country is suffering.
