Stand up against hysterical voices
It's a pretty sad day in America when the president of the United States cannot make a speech to school children about the importance of education and staying in school without a major controversy occurring.
Citizens need to stand up and say what this is really about.
Our society has become so polarized that our president can't encourage children to set goals and focus on achievement without being accused of all sorts of things.
This, along with the hysteria of the health care reform issue, just shows that reason and sanity are in short supply.
Steps to a more reasonable approach could start with school boards and district administrators standing up to these hysterical voices.
