Crash near Addison sends one to hospital

One person was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital after a crash between a semitrailer truck and a car around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday near the Elmhurst-Addison border, firefighters said.

The individual, who authorities did not identify, did not sustain serious injuries and was taken to the hospital mainly as a precautionary measure, according to Addison firefighters.

The accident took place in the area of Route 83 near West Comstock Avenue. Authorities could not immediately say what caused the crash.
