Last week Lakes d. Grant, 28-27; Vernon Hills d. North Chicago by forfeit.

Outlook Vernon Hills finally gets to play a game again after winning by forfeit last week over North Chicago, which had its program suspended indefinitely by the IHSA following a fight during its Week-2 home game against Simeon. (The IHSA reinstated North Chicago this week). The last time Vernon Hills played, the Cougars suffered a disappointing, 21-6 loss to South Elgin. ... Lakes rallied late to stun Grant last week, receiving a pair of fourth-quarter touchdown runs from Andrew Tubek. Lineman John Pfeiffer led the defensive effort with a safety, tackle-for-loss, fumble recovery and 3 pass breakups. Tubek had TD runs of 83, 72 and 11 yards. It was his second 3-touchdown game of the season.
