Bears sign linebacker, cut 2 practice squad players
The Chicago Bears signed linebacker Darrell McClover to a contract and waived injured tight end Fontel Mines and offensive guard Tyler Reed today.
Terms of McClover's deal were not disclosed.
McClover appeared in 28 games with the Bears from 2006-08, registering 36 special teams tackles and two blocked punts. For his NFL career, the 2004 seventh-round draft pick of the New York Jets has appeared in 38 contests, recording 61 special teams stops.
Mines (2007-08) and Reed (2006-08) have spent the majority of their NFL careers on the Bears practice squad.
