Kraft recalls pizzas on possible undeclared allergen
Kraft Foods Inc., the world's second-largest foodmaker, is recalling about 8,000 pounds of frozen pepperoni and sausage pizza products because of a possible undeclared allergen, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said.
Kraft is based in Northfield.
The pizzas, which may contain the allergen soy protein concentrate, were produced on July 19 at a facility in Medford, Wisconsin, and sent to retailers in 17 states, the USDA said in a statement yesterday. The USDA has not received any reports of sickness from the products.
In a separate statement, the USDA said Pasha Halal Poultry in Vineland, New Jersey, is recalling about 128 pounds of ground beef that may have been contaminated with E. coli. The beef, packaged under the label Marcacci Meats, was produced Aug. 12 and distributed in New Jersey. No illnesses have been reported.
