Fogle's a winner as Barrington's fourth

Senior Emily Fogle was an individual winner in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:04.30 and helped Barrington to victory in the relay in that same event as the Fillies placed fourth in the New Trier Relays on Saturday.

The host Trevians won with 171 points, followed by a closely bunched group that included Hinsdale Central (118), Naperville North (113) and Barrington (110).

The Fillies also won the 200 medley relay in 1:48.91, took second in the backstroke relay and got third-place points from the butterfly and 200 free relays.

Maine East Invite: Elk Grove won the junior varsity level, finished second at the varsity level and easily won the cumulative point total in the two levels to claim victory in Maine East's six-team relay invitational on Saturday.

The varsity scored 84 points, two shy of University High. But the Grens' JV level had 98, far ahead of University's 64, to give Elk Grove the overall victory.

The Grens were especially strong in the varsity freestyle relays, where Jordan Crocker, Jenna Kyriazes, Angelica Ford and Catherine Yuh won the 400 relays and placed second in the 200 and in the 500 crescendo relay. Elk Grove also got victories in the 400 medley relay, the 300 backstroke relay and the 300 breastroke relay.

• Palatine's Mallory Fisher placed 10th in the prestigious Evanston diving invitational with a total of 306.10. Hinsdale Central's Abby Grilli was the winner at 417.75; New Trier, Hinsdale Central and Waubonsie Valley took the top three team finishes.
