Redbox nears half-billionth DVD

OAKBROOK TERRACE - Redbox, the automated DVD rental provider, is on pace to rent its half-billionth DVD this weekend. The milestone comes five years after Redbox debuted with 12 kiosks in Denver. Redbox is now in 48 states and more than 15,000 retail locations. Redbox is available at select McDonald's restaurants, some grocery and convenience stores, and Wal-Mart and Walgreens.
