Action needed now on global warming

We need to stop global warming! Did you know that since 1980, Illinois has experienced 19 of its 20 hottest years on record? I was in Alaska recently, and witnessed the rapid pace that glaciers are receding there. In the news are constant reminders of the impact from global warming; increased droughts and heat waves, sea levels rising and stronger hurricanes. We can't take a wait-and-see attitude. The time is now for legislation that will move us toward energy efficiency, increased use of renewable energy, and cleaner cars.

Please contact Rep. Melissa Bean (847) 925-0265 and tell her she needs to sponsor the Safe Climate Act (H.R. 1590). Future generations are dependent on us making the right decisions now.

If you would like more information on this bill or global warming, go to this Greenpeace Web site: www.illinoishotseat.org.
