Ovechkin's 4 goals key Caps
Alex Ovechkin scored his fourth goal of the night with 1:26 left in overtime to give the host Washington Capitals a 5-4 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night.
Ovechkin finished with 4 goals and 1 assist for 5 points, but the last goal was the biggest. He took a crossing pass from Jeff Schultz and beat Montreal goalie Cristobal Huet from in front for the overtime goal.
It was Ovechkin's second career 4-goal and 5-point game. He did it on Dec. 29 at Ottawa. Ovechkin leads the NHL with 43 goals, and took over the points lead with 70.

Rangers 4, Flyers 0: Steve Valiquette made 20 saves in his first career shutout to help the Rangers beat host Philadelphia, New York's first road win in more than a month.
Lightning 4, Canucks 3: Brad Richards had a goal and 2 assists, leading host Tampa Bay past Vancouver.
Predators 4, Blue Jackets 2: J.P. Dumont extended the longest current points streak in the NHL to 16 games with 2 assists, and host Nashville beat Columbus.
