Records to be destroyed
Geneva School District 304 will destroy special education records from the 2003-04 school year of students who graduated, transferred or were dismissed from special services. If a parent or student wants those records, call the Student Services Office before Aug. 31 at (630) 463-3061. Copies of the rules and regulations that govern student records are available for inspection at each school site and at the district office. Special education records can include reports of psychological and social work evaluations, multidisciplinary planning conferences, annual reviews, copies of individualized education programs and other relevant information.
Cardboard boat race on
Fox Valley residents might want to get a crew together to build their entry in the Fox Valley United Way's seventh annual What Floats Your Boat Cardboard Boat Race. The race takes place Aug. 22 on Mastodon Lake in Aurora's Phillips Park. The boats compete in one of five divisions - junior, adult, business, nonprofit and community. First-, second- and third-place trophies are awarded in each division. The race raises funds for the support Fox Valley United Way provides to more than 50 social service agencies. Registration information and rules, along with suggestions for building a cardboard boat, are available at uwfoxvalley.org.
