'Do-It-Yourself Sousa' is tonight

The summer season for the Mount Prospect Community Band ends tonight with the traditional "Do It Yourself" Sousa concert, led by renowned Sousa impersonator Michael Golemo, the director of bands at Iowa State University.

Skilled, semiskilled and novice musicians, 12 years and up, who showed up for a practice Sunday are participating. The performance also will feature vocalist Amy Keipert, a flutist with the band. The free event is at 7:30 p.m. at Veterans' Memorial Band Shell in Lions Park.
