Schaumburg plans Night Out parties

Schaumburg will once again participate in the 26th annual National Night Out on Aug. 4. The village is encouraging Neighborhood Watch groups, associations and neighborhood groups to hold block parties that night, and invite residents to mingle and get to know one another.

The village recommends that Night Out events be held in the neighborhoods between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. Block parties are designed for residents to meet their neighbors, make new friends and develop a partnership between the community and the Schaumburg Police Department.
