Lake County museum offers Halloween activities
Throughout October, learn about the folklore and history of Halloween in the Lake County Discovery Museum's special exhibition "Halloween: Superstitions and Traditions." The exhibit features antique postcards, as well as vintage costumes and decorations. The exhibit is open 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1-4:30 p.m. Sunday, and will close Sunday, Nov. 1. Museum admission is $6 for adults and $2.50 for ages 4-17. Kids 3 and under are free.
Parents can also bring their children out for Pumpkin Tales from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28. The program features a slightly spooky Halloween story "Leonardo the Terrible Monster," as well as a lesson on how pumpkins grow. Kids will make a yarn vine craft that contains all the phases of a pumpkin, from seed to fruit. Costumes are encouraged for this event. Pumpkin Tales is for children 5 and under, with an adult. The program is $6 for adults and $2.50 for kids. Children 3 and under are free. Price includes museum admission.
