Briefs: Solar invests in more equipment

NAPERVILLE -- Solar Communications, a full-service print and production provider, completed its expansion, which started in 2006 with more than $10 million in capital investments. The additional equipment will allow Solar to produce and finish unique and personalized direct mail packages, quickly and cost-effectively.

Alcatel-Lucent on Latina Style list

MURRAY HILL, N.J. -- Alcatel-Lucent said Wednesday it was named as one of the 50 best employers for Hispanic women in the United States by Latina Style magazine. Lucent Technologies, which merged with Alcatel last December, had been included on this list the past three consecutive years. More than 1,000 companies participated in this year's application process and were evaluated based on issues that Latina Style readers identified as most important to them in the workplace. Alcatel-Lucent has offices in Naperville and Lisle.
