The Cubs, not the Bears, are the story

On Monday morning I opened my Daily Herald anxious to read about my beloved Chicago Cubs. They were then in first place by 3½ games and close to going to the playoffs. They are playing better baseball than they have in years.

What do I see on the front page of the paper, above the fold, a huge article taking up close to one-third of the front page? "Where's Good Rex?"

In the top left corner of this same front page is a 2-inch square that notes the Cubs are closing in on the playoffs. It's almost an after thought. How do the losing Bears manage a huge article on page one, while the (hopefully) playoff-bound Cubs get one sentence?

Even the sport's section is loaded with Bear's headlines. Cubs rate the very bottom of page one. We all know that Cubs fans are forever optimistic, but do we have to see more losing than winning on page one? At least it's not the White Sox on top...
