Mr. Claus goes to Long Grove

Santa Claus will leave the elves in charge of his workshop as he drops in on the historic village of Long Grove for some holiday fun. The man in red will begin his visit outside of the Long Grove Apple Haus, where the village's decorated holiday tree stands. Then Mr. Claus will take a jolly stroll through town, chatting with visitors and listening to the holiday wishes of youngsters.

A concert for a cause

The Green Oaks Holiday Chorus presents its 20th annual concert, "Sounds of the Season," to benefit the PADS homeless shelter of Lake County. The evening consists of choral music, holiday carols and a sing-along.

'The Living Light'

The Fourth Street United Methodist Church presents "The Living Light," a Christmas show featuring actors, musicians and singers, telling the tale of the Nativity.

'Prince' Rick's tribute to 'The King'

Elvis Presley impersonator Rick Saucedo, who refers to himself as "The Prince of Rock 'n' Roll," presents a musical tribute to "The King" of rock 'n' roll.

Christmas is on its way
