Dance auditions slated
Naperville Park District has scheduled auditions for its dance program on July 18 at the Riverwalk Community Center, 305 W. Jackson Ave. This year's production is based on "The Sign of the Seahorse" by Graeme Base. Dancers should dress for dance class; those interested in a speaking role should bring a brief monologue. Audition times are: 11 a.m. until noon for children ages 4-7; 12:15-1:15 p.m. for adults; 2:30-3:30 p.m. for kids ages 8-12; and 3:45-5:30 p.m. for youths ages 13-18. NASA engineer at library
NASA engineer Dean Mikolajczyk, who also serves as Villa Park Library's expert on space exploration and astronomy, will present two lectures on the history of space exploration. He'll discuss "Moon Exploration: Past, Present and Future," at 7 p.m. July 1 and "The History of NASA" at 7 p.m. July 8 at the library, 305 S. Ardmore Ave. The programs are being held in conjunction with the Man on the Moon Festival being sponsored by the library and the Villa Park Recreation Department in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Moon Landing on July 20, 1969. Shakespeare at Cantigny
"The Taming of the Shrew" will be presented at 6 p.m. July 19 in the gardens at Cantigny Park, 1S151 Winfield Road, Wheaton.
