Dundee-Crown reunion is July 18

The Dundee Crown Class of 1999 reunion will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at Emmett's Tavern in West Dundee. Enjoy a concert in East Dundee park

The village of East Dundee will host the Lunch in the Park Concert Series from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays, July 1 and Aug. 5, at The Depot, 319 N. River St. These events are free. Lunch will be for sale in The Depot and provided by CIAO's Pizzeria, 310 N. River St., East Dundee. There will also be a free raffle, prizes and desserts. Sleepy Hollow to celebrate July 4

The annual Sleepy Hollow Fourth of July Fest and Fireworks Saturday, July 4, is sponsored by the Sleepy Hollow Service Club for the benefit of village residents and the surrounding communities

The event starts at 8:15 a.m. with the Fun Run/Walk and ends with the fireworks display at dusk at Sabatino Park in the middle of Sleepy Hollow Rain date is July 5.

The event includes family fun, food, games, parade, musical entertainment, fishing, pie eating contest, pony rides, raffle prizes and fireworks, with proceeds supporting the work and events of the Sleepy Hollow Service Club.

Send in your raffle tickets with a check or buy them on the big day for your chance to win one of the prizes - top prize is $1,000. White Sox to host a training camp

The Chicago White Sox Training Center, the official summer camp of the White Sox, will be coming to Algonquin Middle School July 6-10.

Since 1994, more than 50,000 young players have participated. White Sox Training Centers are the combination of instruction and fun. Every instructor has been certified by the White Sox Academy staff and can help the youngest players and the most advanced.

In addition to instruction, each player will receive six free White Sox tickets, Sox Academy hat, T-shirt and graduation certificate.

The camp lineup will be: Little Sluggers for ages 5 to 6 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday; STC 1 for ages 7 to 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday; and STC 2 for ages 9 to 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. All camps will be held at Algonquin Middle School.

Retired teachers invited to breakfast

A breakfast for retired teachers is being planned for 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Pinecrest Golf Course, 11220 Algonquin Road, Huntley. The group will order from the menu and each attendee will get their own ticket and pay individually. The tip will be added to each individual ticket.
