The show is a world premiere by professional New York playwright, James Carter. This play is especially exciting to the cast members because they met and participated in a workshop with the playwright on the weekend of Sept. 25. During the workshop, they read and gave critiques of the script before the playwright's final rewrite of the rehearsal draft. Carter was especially pleased with the candidness and depth of their comments and loved working with our students.
In the play, after five years of silence, S.O.S. sounds from a beacon connected to an outpost 50 miles away. Who could be calling? Are they truly in trouble? Is anyone really at the other end? Seven adventurers set out on a journey to answer the call, and through their travels discover despair, friendship, and, just maybe, a new Earth.
