Mount Prospect Lions Club Festival starts July 1

The 71st annual Mount Prospect Lions Club Festival runs 6 to 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, and Thursday, July 2; 3 to 10:45 p.m. on Friday, July 3; 7 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, and 9 to 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 5.

Where: Melas Park, near the corner of Central and Busse roads

Cost: Free admission and free parking, free shuttle from 6 p.m. to midnight on Saturday from remote parking at Mount Prospect Village Hall or St. Raymond Catholic Church. Shuttle runs every 15 minutes. There is also parking available at Bosch parking lot on all festival days.

Highlights: Fireworks, 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday; Fourth of July parade, 1 p.m. Saturday from Lions Park to Melas Park; Family Fun Day, 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, featuring face painting, games and activities for all ages
