Just say no to video poker

Gambling is not the way to finance government. Consider the Lotto ... it was supposed to finance education. The only educating it has accomplished is to teach people throwing money away on a Lotto ticket is a sure way of wasting money.

While I don't have the numbers to back me up, I would venture to say the vast majority of money spent on Lotto tickets are from people who can least afford it.

Poker machines are but "the nose under the tent." The problems inherent with gambling will only get worse when the machines will pop up everywhere.

Is there nothing we will collectively say no to?

Lake in the Hills should pass an ordinance prohibiting the location of gambling machines within the village.
